The spirit of Layis
Layis or Laïs is a rare and elegant name with ancient roots, often associated with beauty, mystery and artistic femininity.
Historically, the name is linked to Laïs of Corinth, a famous figure from Ancient Greece remembered for her charisma, intelligence, and captivating presence. Over time, the name evolved beyond history and came to evoke something more symbolic, such as grace, magnetism, mystery or artistic allure.
My special connection to Laïs
But Laïs is also a real person. It is the name of a little girl I met years ago on a beautiful beach in Brazil. We connected instantly. She was full of life, curiosity, and joy. She hugged with a sincerity and intensity only children are capable of : completely pure and real.
At the time, I carried a simple camera with me, and she was fascinated by it. She wanted to hold it, to explore the world through it. In her eyes, everything deserved to be seen and remembered.
During this period, as I formed this unexpected bond with her, I did not yet know that I was beginning another life chapter within myself. This is part of why her name stayed with me so deeply.
Laïs became more than a name or a memory. It became a symbol of intuition and creation itself.
When the time came to build a production company, I knew I wanted it to stand for stories that are deeply human and authentic, stories that capture emotion before words can explain it.
